Crafty forward Noah Long is set to be available to take on Essendon on Saturday night after overcoming a sore hip.

Long was kept out of the trip to Gold Coast last round but has recovered well and is expected to put his hand up.

“Longy’s hip is good. He missed last week just with a hip pointer, so if he gets through training this week he’ll be playing,” High Performance Manager Mat Inness told westcoasteagles.com.au.

Several other Eagles are on similar return-to-play timelines, headlined by co-captain and spearhead Oscar Allen.

“Oscar is starting to run again, which is good news, so over the next few weeks he’ll be doing more and more,” Inness said.

“’Jamo’ (Callum Jamieson) with that hammy, he’s still a few weeks away but he’s integrating into training and he’s going well at the moment.

“’Flynny’ (Matt Flynn) is another one who is back into parts of training, so with our smaller sessions he’s full training and bigger sessions he’s integrating into certain drills.”

After a good run of form for the WAFL Eagles, midfielder Zane Trew will miss Sunday’s clash with East Perth due to a head knock.

“Unfortunately for ‘Trewy’ in our WAFL training session over the weekend he had a head knock and he’s in the concussion protocol now,” Inness said.
