Senior Coach: John Worsfold b. 25 September 1968

West Coast Eagles: Senior Coach 2002 - Current

Worsfold faces his biggest test as West Coast starts the long haul back from the depths of the AFL ladder and he knows there are no shortcuts.

There must have been times during the 2007 and 2008 seasons when Worsfold wondered how his premiership combination of 2006 could fall apart but he kept a brave face and accepted some of the hard decisions the club had to make

Worsfold can only look forward and that appears to be the theme right through the club after the appointment of several new faces to the football department and the coaching staff.

They include ex-Melbourne coach Neale Daniher (football operations manager and chairman of selectors) and highly respected former Collingwood star Scott Burns, who joins as an assistant coach.

Philip Walsh, who has a wealth of experience at club level, also joins the Eagles as stategy and innovations assistant coach.

Given the decision to go young in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft, Worsfold has plenty of talent at his disposal - and he's just the person to guide them.
